Epica DG chosen for NASDAQ's high-performance signal routing needs
“The Epica DG is the only matrix switcher that uses fiber so any signal can be routed faster, clearer and more secure than any other,“ explains Phil Marie, senior vice president, Global Infrastructure at NASDAQ. “This matrix switcher routes any input signal to any output signal which allowed us to seamlessly interface with our 3rd party systems, saving us valuable time and money.”
The Epica DG Matrix Switcher was chosen as the solution for this large scale, high-performance signal routing project, to ensure all the video signals were switched to the nearly 100 multi-media screens. Epica DG is also the only large scale matrix switcher capable of taking in HD-SDI (High Definition Serial Digital Interface) and DVI (Digital Video Interface) via local connections, converting the digital signals within the system, and transmitting them simultaneously over common DVI output connections all without installing separate signal conversion units. In addition, the Epica DG offers redundant power supplies, critical for this type of installation whereby the system needs to operate 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
“NASDAQ researched other solutions for a robust system that would meet their mission critical requirements and we’re honored the company chose an AMX application, one of many mission critical solutions we offer,” says Rashid Skaf, president & CEO of AMX. “The installation of Epica DG meant the NASDAQ MarketSite Video Wall would be fail-safe by, providing a dependable, redundant solution ensuring a crisp digital viewer experience.”
