HDMI UTPro 8x8 Matrix Switcher Delivers Digital Content at 10.2 Gbps over One Wire

RICHARDSON, TX - August 17, 2010 - AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced the release of its new HDMI UTPro-0808 Matrix Switcher. The HDMI UTPro delivers uncompressed HD 1920x1080p content up to 100 meters, making it the highest-performance digital media switcher available.

The HDMI UTPro is a full matrix switcher that can route up to eight different HDMI sources, with HDCP authentication, to local displays via HDMI cabling, or remote displays via a single UTP cable. Utilizing AMX's industry-best 10.2 Gigabit-per-second transmission, users can transmit HD video, audio, and control up to 100 meters without the need for repeaters. Another feature that truly sets it apart is the InstaGate® technology from AMX. AMX HDCP InstaGate technology allows for HDMI signal switching without delays due to HDCP re-authentication and eliminates video stream interruption to existing HDMI signal paths.

"The facts speak for themselves, the HDMI UTPro - at 10.2 Gigabit-per-second transmission - is the fastest, most robust digital AV solution available - enabling content that is literally beyond HD," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "Ensuring that our dealers are equipped with the most innovative products in the industry is a constant goal for us."

Ideal for residential, commercial and scholastic installations, the HDMI UTPro is HDMI 1.3 compatible, can support high resolution video including 1920x1080p at 60Hz, and utilizes Valens' HDBaseT™ Technology, a new standard for digital transmission. With native-NetLinx® functionality the HDMI UTPro Receivers give users IR or Serial control of the display and include an IR Tx for remote control of the system.
