Industry Experts Laud New Digital Matrix Switcher with Ground-Breaking InstaGate Technology That Eliminates HDMI Lag

RICHARDSON, Texas - December 7, 2010 - AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced its new HDMI UTPro-0808 Matrix Switcher was named an Innovation Award winner at the 2010 SATIS Expo in Paris. The HDMI UTPro can deliver uncompressed HD 1920x1080p content up to 100 meters at an industry-best 10.2 Gigabit-per-second transmission, making it the fastest, most powerful digital media switcher available.

The HDMI UTPro is a full matrix switcher that can route up to eight different HDMI sources, with HDCP authentication, to local displays via HDMI cabling, or remote displays via a single UTP cable. With its 10.2 Gigabit-per-second transmission it enables content that is literally beyond HD to speed across the network.

The HDMI UTPro includes Valens' HDBaseT™ Technology to allow users to transmit video, audio, and control up to 100 meters without the need for repeaters. Another feature that truly sets the HDMI UTPro apart from other digital switchers is InstaGate® technology from AMX. AMX HDCP InstaGate technology allows for HDMI signal switching without delays due to HDCP re-authentication and eliminates video stream interruption to existing HDMI signal paths.

"It's especially rewarding that the expert panel of judges at SATIS recognize the true advancement the HDMI UTPro represents for the industry," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "With 10.2 Gigabit-per-second transmission and InstaGate technology for low-latency switching of HDCP protected content the HDMI UTPro ensures our dealers can offer their clients the most advanced products in the industry."

The HDMI UTPro is HDMI 1.3 compatible, can support high resolution video including 1920x1080p at 60Hz, and is engineered to deliver the highest quality HD digital content to as many as eight displays in an installation making it perfect for residential, commercial and scholastic installations. With native-NetLinx® functionality the HDMI UTPro Receivers give users IR or Serial control of the display and include an IR Tx for remote control of the system.

Since UTPro signals are carried over commonly available Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable, it is a cost effective installation solution.
