Posted on Thursday, August 4, 2011
Nearly 200 delegates from Consultants Universities & AMX Dealers celebrate with AMX and get a unique view into the past, present and future at AMX11

Thursday, 4 August 2011 – 2011 marks two major milestones from AMX Australia, 20 years of AMX in Australia and the 20th Anniversary AMX Conference, AMX11. The annual AMX event has evolved from a one-night meeting for 25 dealers in 1991 to a week-long Conference including dedicated events for AMX Dealers, Consultants and for the first time in 2011 an AMX Users Group event for Universities. Held at the Sebel Heritage, Yarra Valley, Victoria from the 30th March – 3rd May this year AMX11 which was a huge success for one of the biggest Australian AV Industry Events of the year.

International AMX presenters included CEO Rashid Skaf, CTO Robert Noble, David Passey, Chief Engineer for the Signal management portfolio and David Jago, Business Development Manager for our Digital Content Management & Delivery segment. Delegates were also enthralled by presentations from Mr Bob Fealy, Chairman of the AMX board and President, Chief Operating Officer and Director of The Duchossois Group, the parent company of AMX. . Having such distinguished representatives from AMX globally and the AV insustry alike provided delegates with a great insight into AMX and the emerging and face paced industry that Australia continues to take a leadership role in globally.

Not only was AMX11 a fantastic opportunity for consultant, tertiary and integrator delegates to network, understand the future of our industry and to hear the latest and greatest from AMX, but the AMX11 Experience Area where the AMX team created 19 interactive, functional environments demonstrating the latest AMX Technology giving them the opportunity to actually see, touch and experience the newest AMX products in action with some on show for the first time in Australia and others previewing upcoming launches at InfoComm 2011.

A highlight of this 20th year event for the three delegate groups was again the AMX Futures Forums, where the leaders of AMX's product strategy invited suggestions, comments and feedback on the features & functionality they would like to see incorporated into AMX products and solutions. Marji Smith, Vice President of Product Strategy attended AMX11 specifically to be involved with the Futures Forums and along with Rashid Skaf and Robert Noble, providing delegates unparalleled access to the AMX product development process.

Marketing & Communications manager for AMX Australia, Graham Barrett, said after the event "20 years is a major milestone for AMX and in Australia and our Conference, an event which many told our founder, Kevin Chatfield, would never work back in 1991! AMX11 was a fantastic success due in no small part to the delegates from AMX globally but most importantly, our customers, many of whom have supported AMX in Australia for all of our 20 years. We wouldn't be where we are today without our customers and we thank everyone who has supported AMX in Australia over the last 20 years and look forward to supporting you for another 20 years "
