Bosch launches Vari-directional Array active loudspeaker system at InfoComm 2010 (Booth C6302)

·         Delivers unmatched performance in challenging acoustical environments
·         Intelligent software allows fast configuration
·         Flexible and straightforward installation
·         Compliant with stringent EVAC requirements

Las Vegas, Nev., June 9, 2010: Launching in the Americas at InfoComm 2010, the new Vari-directional Array from Bosch combines superior directive sound technology with low-profile looks and straightforward installation and configuration.

Bosch’s new active line array sets new standards for speech intelligibility and overall audio quality in commercial audio, with digitally-controlled directivity to provide excellent pattern control and distribution for ranges of up to 50 meters. The system is therefore ideal for counteracting the reverberant effect of hard construction materials typically used in spaces such as airports of houses of worship, while electrical beam steering optimizes coverage without wasting output energy on ceilings or empty spaces above the listening area.

The Vari-directional Array’s configuration software uses a database of pre-programmed room settings to fit any acoustical environment; the installer simply enters the room dimensions and requirements and the software does the rest. It is also possible to customize audio processing and set supervision parameters. All the amplifier and loudspeaker components (including drivers) are fully supervised, faults are logged and a 24 V DC backup power supply can be connected. The system is also fully EVAC compliant, making it a perfect fit for all voice-alarm applications.

The modular-designed product range consists of a base and extension units that can be simply connected together. The configuration software can automatically detect a connected extension unit, reducing configuration time. The base unit alone can cover up to 15 meters. The addition of one extension provides coverage of up to 30 meters, and adding two extensions provides coverage of up to 50 meters. A wide range of applications can be addressed with just a few standard components, adding up to less inventory, less hassle and less expense.

With their sleek, low-profile design, the units look good in any environment, indoors or outside. The arrays can be wall-mounted using mounting bracket supports that can be turned up to 80° turn possibility, and have front amplifier cooling so flush-mounting in walls is also possible.
