Enhanced capabilities make it easier for service providers to deploy visual communications quickly as a hosted service to organizations of all sizes

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., (Oct. 26, 2009) - TANDBERG (OSLO: TAA. OL), the leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition video conferencing and mobile video solutions, and BroadSoft, Inc., the leading worldwide provider of VoIP applications, today announced at the BroadSoft Connections 2009 Users' Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., that the companies have extended their joint solution capabilities through additional TANDBERG product interoperability and applications. Now, it is even easier for service providers to deliver integrated video and voice solutions to businesses of any size through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model.

"The ability to easily integrate high-definition video and VoIP conferencing is becoming a priority for businesses of all sizes. The extended capabilities of the BroadSoft TANDBERG partnership will make it even easier and more cost effective for our customers to deploy the technology across their organizations," said PCCW Global CEO Marc Halbfinger. "PCCW is providing these services to enterprises using our global IP-MPLS network. We have seen increased interest from customers who want to make integrated video and VoIP capabilities accessible for all of their employees to enhance the quality of their business operations and help their people collaborate more effectively."

With BroadSoft's Device Management functionality, the configuration and provisioning of TANDBERG video products is now seamlessly integrated with BroadWorks business applications. The TANDBERG E20 can now be deployed by service providers using the same management and provisioning processes they use today for traditional VoIP phones and devices. This single, unified service activation process for both audio and video aspects of unified communications solutions speeds and eases the integration process for service providers and customers. In addition, BroadSoft is tightly integrated with TANDBERG Multipoint Control Units (MCUs), which enable hosted multipoint video conferencing, so service providers can deliver video conferencing as a cloud service to businesses.

"The usage of visual communications has tripled in the last year, making video a critical component of any business communication solution," said David Bukovsky, vice president of products at BroadSoft.  "We will continue to enhance our joint solutions with TANDBERG to ensure service providers can take innovative video solutions to market."

The enhanced TANDBERG/BroadSoft solution makes it easy for service providers to create customized solutions for all their customers, regardless of size. Organizations that may have lacked the resources to deploy on-premise video communications solutions enterprise-wide can now capitalize on the benefits of video unified communications through the TANDBERG/BroadSoft solution. A streamlined deployment process coupled with the advanced features of TANDBERG's easy-to-use products provides an all-in-one video/audio solution that eliminates the need for a separate office phone.

"The BroadSoft/TANDBERG hosted business video communications solution makes it easier for service providers to offer their customers enterprise-wide video collaboration solutions. This easy to manage solution is key to accelerating the adoption of video so companies of all sizes can reap the benefits of visual communications," said Håkon Dahle, TANDBERG Chief Technologist. "Simplifying the management and integration of video is especially crucial for the small and medium sized business market that is often reliant on efficient and effective managed services to drive technology integration. We look forward to continuing to build on this partnership with BroadSoft to deliver even more enhanced capabilities to help drive the adoption of video."
