The Bosch Security Systems, Inc., Communications Systems Division family of brands – Bosch (Public Address, Conferencing, and Security Systems), Electro-Voice, RTS, and Telex – had a stellar showing at InfoComm 2010 (Las Vegas, NV, June 9-11), sporting an array of new product releases and the show’s largest-ever audio demo room.
As Platinum sponsors of the show – the world’s biggest annual pro AV event – Bosch was pleased to help kick things off in the proper fashion, hosting the opening night reception in its 38,000 square-foot demo room – dubbed the “Electro-Voice Audio Experience.”
With over 175 loudspeakers from across the Electro-Voice range, along with the new Vari-directional Array speakers from Bosch, all seamlessly integrated with an impressive light and video component, the demo room was a feast for the eyes and ears, with the EV team giving comprehensive demonstrations of the latest leading-edge equipment for installed, concert, and portable sound applications, including brand-new additions to the EV-Innovation family of installation-dedicated loudspeakers.
The demo room was also the venue for a number of special events, ranging from consultant events to breakfast sessions to the only Spanish-speaking demo sessions at the show. A highlight of the week was the Happy Hour, attended by over 300 guests and featuring live music from Electro-Voice endorsers the Travis Larson Band. With plenty of space for even the largest sound systems to flex their sonic muscles, the Electro-Voice Audio Experience truly lived up to its name, being a world apart from the far smaller demo rooms offered by other manufacturers.
Education is a main focus at the InfoComm show, and the Communications Systems Division hosted two well-attended sessions: the “AV in the Life Safety Market” education session and “Bosch Conferencing Systems: Press-To-Talk versus Mix Minus” manufacturer session. Both sessions reinforced Bosch’s position at the forefront of the professional conferencing and public address businesses.
The company also received two major industry awards at the show: the Rental and Staging magazine award for best audio processor went to the Electro-Voice DC-One; the Systems Contractor News award for best new installation loudspeaker went to EV’s EVA line array, which has made a global impact with its unique and unprecedented combination of sound quality, aesthetics, and efficiency.
