Built-In IP and MS/TP BACnet Network Interfaces Enable Immediate and Seamless Integration With Existing Building-Control Systems

LENEXA, Kan.  Nov. 17, 2015 — LynTec, a leading manufacturer of innovative electrical power control solutions for professional audio, video, and lighting systems, today announced that its Remote Power Controller (RPC) family of panels now supports the open BACnet networking protocol. With BACnet built into RPC boards, lighting professionals can be sure that the LynTec panels will integrate seamlessly into existing control systems, regardless of the manufacturer.

“Building owners are always looking to reduce operating costs, and one way to do that is through automated lighting control. That means customers need lighting control products that can be added easily to the control systems they’re already using,” said Mark Bishop, president of LynTec. “By incorporating the vendor-agnostic BACnet protocol into all of our RPC panels, we’re ensuring that the panels are able to interface immediately with existing building-automation systems, allowing owners to take advantage of universal control as a cost-saving measure without worrying about compatibility.”

The open-standard BACnet protocol was specifically developed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers so that building automation and control systems — such as those for HVAC, lighting, access, and fire detection — can readily communicate with each other. LynTec has built both MS/TP and IP versions of BACnet into every board as standard control interface options. RPC boards are easily deployed and can be operated autonomously.
