LynTec Adds Over-Voltage Protection to Flagship RPC Panel Family

LENEXA, Kan. Feb. 8, 2017 LynTec, a leading manufacturer of innovative electrical power control solutions for professional audio, video, and lighting systems, today announced the addition of over-voltage protection to its RPC and RPCR series power control panels. This feature allows the panels to provide comprehensive power protection that’s vital to the health and reliability of connected audio equipment.

“LynTec has offered brownout and under-voltage protection on all of its panels for more than 20 years,” said Mark Bishop, president of LynTec. “Due to the ever-increasing unpredictability of the power grid, a number of our customers requested over-voltage protection. In response to our customers and recognizing the advantage of protecting processor-heavy digital audio gear from electrical anomalies, we added this as a standard feature.”

The new over-voltage protection will function like the panels’ under-voltage protection. The system will monitor the incoming voltage and automatically shut off any protected circuits when the voltage reads 20 percent above or below the selected voltage level for two seconds. When the voltage stabilizes within 20 percent of the designated voltage for five seconds, then the power re-sequences back on as programmed.

From the controller’s embedded web server, the user can select the appropriate protection from a simple drop-down menu on the setup page for each circuit. This allows users to customize the power protection settings for the devices connected to the panel, specifying over-voltage protection for the equipment that needs it most.
